so longa Milonga man

May 2012

Our man in Buenos Aires discovered the brutalist architecture of the ‘city of the dead’ at La Chacarita Cemetery which dates back to 1887 and is the final resting place for important Argentineans including, amongst the sportsmen, pioneers, and Nobel prize winners, Argentina’s famed tango dancers, musicians, composers and poets.  This one caught my eye though: Severino di Giovanni, an Italian-born anarchist who emigrated to Argentina in the 1920s and was executed by firing squad in 1931.

May they all dance on forever.
