Victory for the Mast House

August 2012

A spectacular model of HMS Victory, made for the film ‘That Hamilton Woman’ starring Laurence Olivier and Vivien Leigh in 1941, has been installed in the Mast House at The Historic Dockyard Chatham.  The Victory was Nelson’s flagship in the Battle of Trafalgar and is the most famous of all Chatham built warships.

The Mast House was refurbished by Baynes and Mitchell Architects and we are now updating the gallery display which is part of the Trust’s Command of The Oceans project.  The model is due to stay, which is brilliant because we think it looks great!
