COSSINS ROAD DEVELOPMENT, BRISTOL
Baynes and Mitchell were engaged by a developer to work on a proposal for a 6-unit new-build domestic development scheme for a brownfield site in Bristol.
After conducting an exercise in mapping the site constraints of an irregular boundary, overlooking from neighbouring properties, parking and access requirements, and nationally prescribed space standards, the area available to build on within the site became apparent.
We sought to design houses that were comfortable and functional for families to live in, as well as highly sustainable, and benefitting from the biophilia of green meadow roofs, native planting around the site borders, and the natural views into the canopies of the adjacent parkland.
